Lily Ale From Bur Oak Brewing, This Week at Beer League

Bur Oak is from Columbia, MO

At the Burr Oak website, they say that their beer are:

"Brewed for those that share a connection with the people who originally embraced craft beers, Bur Oak Brewing Company delivers meticulously executed yet approachable, stylistic craft beers intended to bring communities together."

We're a community and we embraced craft beers eary but we're not cool enough to say we're the original embracers of craft beer. We like meticulously executed yet approachable, stylistic craft beers intended to bring communities together. You know what else we like?

People talk.

So here's how I would translate that first quote into people talk:

We brew beer for people who want to try different styles of beer with other people.

Sure, it's not as flowery. And it really, really sounds like WE MAKE BEER FOR YOU DRINK IT TOGETHER NOW and that's not exactly a marketing statement as much as it's the core of every brewer, and I'd challenge you to find a craft brewer that doesn't say the same thing.

Because - and let's be honest here, Beer League - when was the last time you bought a beer based on the slogan of the company?

Never, because you want passion and care and love and quality and and and... you want a beer that is amazing not because the company says they make good beer to share with you, but because they wouldn't want to share a beer that wasn't the best one they could make.

Beer Advocate
Really nice summer beer from Bur Oak. Fruity and flowery in both aroma and taste. Orange and raspberry first followed by the floral notes. Light body with medium carbonation makes this easy drinking and enjoyable.

Pour is a hazy blonde with a large white head. Aroma is a surprise with lots of citrus and clove. Smells like orange soda. Flavor is unusual at first sip. Sweet fruity and I guess a lavender. Someone below said it reminded them of fruity pebbles and they are correct. Overly sweet fruitiness with some lavender toward the end. Well they did not make the usual boring wheat ale, I’ll give them that.
